Prayers for an end to the pandemic
During this time of global uncertainty due to the CORONAVIRUS epidemic, we can address the following prayers to Our Lady of Pellevoisin to ask for an end to the pandemic:
PRAYER TO NOTRE-DAME DE PELLEVOISIN
O Mary, mother of all mercy,
France is once again tested, worried by illness, unemployment, the rise of violence, the fragility of families and the social fabric, which is why we throw ourselves at your feet.
Throughout the turbulent history of our country, so many men and women saints have taught us to entrust ourselves to you and have testified to your power of intercession and consolation.
At Pellevoisin, to open us to the infinite treasures of grace in the heart of Christ, you indicated a way to welcome your invisible and unfailing presence.
Grant that we may transform anger into courage, fear into confidence and agitation into calm.
Hoping for the complete healing that you have obtained for Estelle, we already want to give witness in the joy of thanksgiving to the One who makes us share in his Passover, Jesus, your beloved son, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen!
Our Lady of Pellevoisin, pray for us!
PRAYER TO MARY ‘SALUS POPOLI ROMANI’ FOR COVID19 – POPE FRANÇOIS
O Mary,
you always shine on our path
as a sign of salvation and hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick,
who, at the cross, was associated with the pain of Jesus,
maintaining your firm faith.
You, Salvation of the Roman people
you know what we need
and we are certain that you will watch
so that, as at Cana in Galilee
joy and celebration may return
after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love
to conform to the will of the Father
and to do what Jesus will tell us,
who took upon himself our sufferings
and took upon himself our pains
to lead us, through the cross
to the joy of the resurrection. Amen.
Under Your protection we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God.
Do not ignore our supplications, we who are in trial
and free us from all danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
PRAYER TO MARY FOR COVID19 – POPE FRANÇOIS
“Under your protection we take refuge, Holy Mother of God”.
In the present dramatic situation of suffering and anguish throughout the world, we turn to you, Mother of God and our Mother, and seek refuge under your protection.
O Virgin Mary, turn to us your merciful eyes in this coronavirus pandemic, and comfort those who are lost and who mourn their loved ones who have died, buried sometimes in a way that hurts the soul. Support those who are distressed for the sick people to whom they cannot be close to prevent contagion. Inspire confidence in those who are worried about the uncertain future and the consequences for the economy and work.
Mother of God and our Mother, implore for us from God, Father of mercy, that this hard trial may end and that a horizon of hope and peace may return. As at Cana, intercede with your Divine Son, asking him to comfort the families of the sick and the victims, and to open their hearts to trust.
Protect the doctors, nurses, health workers and volunteers who, in this time of emergency, are on the front line, risking their lives to save others. Accompany their heroic fatigue and give them strength, goodness and health.
Be at the side of those who, night and day, assist the sick and of the priests who, with pastoral solicitude and evangelical commitment, seek to help and support each one.
Holy Virgin, enlighten the minds of men and women of science, so that they may find the right solutions to overcome this virus.
Help the leaders of nations to work with wisdom, concern and generosity, helping those who lack the necessities of life, planning social and economic solutions with foresight and a spirit of solidarity.
Mary Most Holy, touch people’s consciences so that the considerable sums of money used to increase and perfect armaments may instead be used to promote adequate studies to prevent similar disasters in the future.
Beloved Mother, make the world grow in the sense of belonging to one great family, in the awareness of the bond that unites us all, so that we may come to the aid of the many poverties and situations of misery with a spirit of brotherhood and solidarity. Encourage firmness in faith, perseverance in service, constancy in prayer.
O Mary, Consoler of the afflicted, embrace all your children in tribulation and obtain that God intervenes with his almighty hand to free us from this terrible epidemic, so that life may resume its normal course in serenity.
We entrust ourselves to you, who shine on our path as a sign of salvation and hope, o merciful, o sweet Virgin Mary. Amen.
