As leader of the Lord’s army against Satan, the intercession of Saint Michael the Archangel is powerful and gives us strength and courage in our fight against evil. As the Church invites us to do, let us not hesitate to pray to him to help us in our daily spiritual battles (see below the prayer of Pope Leo XIII).

We should also remember that Saint Michael is one of the patron saints of France. He introduced himself to Saint Joan of Arc, saying: “I am Michael, the protector of France”. The archangel defender against evil is invoked to protect France from its enemies, whether material or spiritual.

In the ^11th apparition to Estelle, the Virgin Mary spoke of France four times, with both tenderness and sadness, underlining her attachment to our country and its Church.

– Then the Blessed Virgin said to me sadly (she wasn’t crying): ” And France! What haven’t I done for her! So many warnings, and yet she still refuses to listen! I can’t hold my son back any longer. She seemed moved as she added: ” France will suffer. She pressed on these words. Then she stopped again and continued: ” Courage and confidence. And the Blessed Virgin understood me, for she replied: ” I have paid in advance; too bad for those who won’t believe you, they will recognise the truth of my words later.

– She said to me: ” I’ll keep you accountable for the efforts you’ve made to keep calm; I’m not only asking this for your sake, but also for the sake of the Church and France. The Church does not have the calm I desire. She sighed and shook her head, saying, ” There is something. ” She stopped. She didn’t tell me what it was, but I knew at once that there was some discord. Then she said slowly: ” Let them pray and trust in me.

Let us pray to Saint Michael that France will remember her baptism and become once again the eldest daughter of the Church, as Pope John Paul II called for at Le Bourget on 1 June 1980.
